How it fits together, in five minutes.

An organisation holds workspaces, workspaces hold projects, and projects hold your documents, whiteboards, plans, work and databases. People, AI and access all follow that same shape.

Organisation, workspaces, projects, and the work inside them.

Organisation

Your company in Stable Baseline. The organisation holds the people, the plan and its billing and credits, and the settings that apply everywhere: single sign-on, brand kits, AI settings, connectors and agents. Its owners and admins look after it.

Workspaces

A workspace is usually a team, a department or a client. People are given access workspace by workspace, as viewers, editors or admins, alone or as a team. Anyone who can open a workspace can view its projects unless a project says otherwise.

Projects

A project is a product, a service or a piece of work. It holds everything about it in one place:

Inside a projectWhat it is for
DocumentsSpecs, runbooks and guides, in folders, with diagrams in them
WhiteboardsOpen canvases, decks and illustrations
PlansPhases and tasks on a timeline
Work registerEpics, stories, bugs, risks and improvements
DatabaseTables of rows, with views, forms and dashboards
BrainWhat the company brain knows about the project: topics, dated facts and records (Enterprise)
ComplianceReadiness checks against public frameworks (Enterprise)

Everything gets a short id, such as DOC-42, PLN-3 or TAS-17, so it can be found by id from search, from Orbit and from your AI tools. On a document, board, plan, database or work item, press the id beside its name to copy a link to it.

People and access

  • The organisation has owners, admins and members.
  • Workspaces give each person or team view, edit or admin access.
  • Projects, documents and databases can narrow access further for particular people.

See People and teams.

Where AI fits in

  • Orbit, the assistant in the top bar, answers and works on whatever page you are on.
  • Agents are AI workers your organisation sets up, with their own mandate, access, approvals and duties.
  • Your AI tools, such as your coding assistant or your chat app, connect over MCP with a key or a sign-in.
  • The company brain lets all of them answer from what your organisation has written (Enterprise).

Each of them works within the access it is given, never more than the person it acts for, and what they change is recorded under their own name.

Plans and credits

Your organisation's plan sets what it includes and its limits. Credits pay for the work Stable Baseline's AI does for you; reading, writing and asking are free. Stable Baseline's AI and its credits come with the paid plans, and on the Free plan AI works with your organisation's own AI. Where your plan sets a limit, the page has a Usage button at the top: it shows what your plan includes there, how much is used, and which plan gives more. See Credits and pricing.
